Matt has spent over 15 years in foreign exchange and payments, building his career from corporate sales through to senior leadership roles across Europe and the UK.
He has led international business development while residing in Spain, managed partnership channels, and ultimately ran origination and corporate sales functions for a leading global FX provider — overseeing teams across direct sales, partnerships, and dealing.
Alongside this, Matt is a founder. He built and scaled Toucan Giving, a UK fintech platform that onboarded thousands of users and charities before being acquired by PAYA Group. Its underlying payments technology is now used nationally across the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal and JustGiving’s contactless fundraising infrastructure.
This combination of institutional experience and founder perspective underpins Thero’s approach — understanding both how markets work, and how businesses experience them.
Outside of work, Matt spends most of his time in soft play centres with his five-year-old daughter, playing guitar, or hunched over a barbecue in the ever-distant hope of becoming a Texan pit master.
